EXPANDING PRODUCT LINES AT ZAMBEEF

Zambeef Products of Zambia is one of the largest agribusinesses in Africa, with more than 4,000 employees. In June 2011, it became the first Zambian company to list on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market.
It has a large retail presence in Zambia, and it expanded into Nigeria and Ghana in 2005 in a joint venture with Shoprite, a South African supermarket group.
Zambia’s economy has seen rapid growth in recent years: Incomes are rising and there a growing middle class. Zambeef is the main provider of basic foodstuffs. Global institutional investors cited Africa as a key market over the next five years in a recent Economist Intelligence Unit survey.
