Gordon Platt Foreign Exchange Awards 2026 – Best FX Banks

Submit Your Entry By September 22, 2026

Methodology

Global Finance will select the World’s Best Foreign Exchange Banks 2027 based on independent research and entries submitted by banks. Editors use a proprietary algorithm to assess quantitative and qualitative factors on volume, market share, and global coverage; commitment to the FX business; innovation and technology; execution skills and client experience; and results, impact, and performance.

Entries are not necessary to win, but they strengthen the likelihood of success by allowing institutions to present data, strategy, context, and innovation that may not be fully visible through public sources.

Stage 1: Editorial Review and Initial Screening

Global Finance will narrow the field based on each provider’s capability and relevance within the specific category entered, including:

  • Volume, market share, and scope of global coverage
  • Range of FX products and services
  • Commitment to the FX business, including resources, trading infrastructure, and client-facing capabilities
  • Evidence of meaningful innovation and technology adoption that enhances client outcomes across corporate and institutional segments

Stage 2: Final Editorial Assessment

Finalists will be evaluated on:

  • Breadth and quality of FX products and services, and how well they meet the full spectrum of client needs, including hedging, treasury integration, risk management, execution quality, liquidity access, and derivatives capabilities
  • Innovation and technology deployment that reduces friction, improves workflow integration, and delivers measurable efficiency gains for corporate and institutional clients
  • Client experience, relationship management, and responsiveness across channels — including onboarding, advisory support, and digital access
  • Demonstrated results during the review period, including measurable client outcomes, volume and revenue growth, and evidence of strategic execution

In the event of a tie, editors will give greater consideration to local providers over global institutions and private-sector banks over government-owned institutions. Winners will be the firms that best serve the specialized needs of corporate and institutional foreign exchange clients in their markets.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS FOR 2027

For the 2027 cycle, Global Finance is especially interested in clear evidence of how banks are responding to the changing needs of FX clients, including:

  • How banks are helping clients manage FX risk and execution more proactively — including hedging and risk-transfer strategies, better exposure visibility, and workflow integration that improves decision-making, efficiency, and control
  • The role of AI, machine learning, automation, and data analytics in improving execution quality, pricing transparency, and operational efficiency for both corporate and institutional clients
  • Specialist support provided to clients operating in complex or less-liquid markets
  • Partnership and ecosystem models — for example, with fintechs, TMS providers, or liquidity partners— that extend the bank’s capabilities and deliver measurable value to corporate or institutional clients
