Best Bank Awards

The global banking sector is enjoying strong performance despite challenges presented by increased regulatory scrutiny, geopolitical uncertainty, and disruption from fintechs.

Global Finance’s Best Bank Awards recognize financial institutions that are most effectively managing their assets and liabilities, while embracing digital and AI-driven innovation to best meet the needs and expectations of their customers.

Honorees are featured in the May print and digital editions, as well as online at GFMag.com, and honored at Global Finance’s World’s Best Bank Awards Ceremony, held during the IMF/World Bank Annual meetings, which will be in Bangkok for 2026.

The editors of Global Finance, with input from industry analysts, corporate executives, and technology experts, select the global winners for the World’s Best Banks. The selection process is based on information provided by entrants as well as independent research, incorporating both objective and subjective factors.

While entries are not required, experience shows that the information supplied in an entry can enhance the chances of success, as entrants often provide valuable details not readily available to the editors.

Global Finance uses a proprietary algorithm to narrow down the list of contenders and assign a numerical score, with 100 representing perfection. The algorithm weighs several criteria, including sector knowledge, market conditions, customer needs, financial strength and safety, strategic relationships, governance, capital investment, innovation, global coverage, staff size and experience, risk management, product and service offerings, and technology use. The panel generally favors private-sector banks over government-owned institutions.

The winners are those banks and providers that excel in meeting the specialized needs of corporations engaged in global business.
