Global Finance’s audience depends on the integrity, accuracy and utility of its award, ranking and recognition programs. The current conflict in the Middle East makes reliable award decisions impossible about those directly involved in the war. Global Finance will temporarily exclude Israel and Palestine, and the foreign operations of banks and companies headquartered there, from award programs until the situation is resolved.
Global Finance’s editorial board will review the situation on a regular basis and announce any appropriate changes.
August 2022
Global Finance takes pride in the integrity and value of its awards and rankings. The current conflict in Eastern Europe makes reliable award decisions impossible in countries directly involved in the war. Global Finance has decided to exclude Russia and Ukraine and foreign operations of banks and companies headquartered in those countries from current award programs until a conflict resolution is achieved.
This decision has so far impacted the 2022 Awards for Best Banks, The Innovators, Sustainable Finance, Best Digital Banks, and Best Sub-custodian Banks. It has also affected all of the 2023 Awards Programs.
Global Finance’s editorial board will review the situation on a regular basis and announce any appropriate changes.
