Daniel D. Barclay

is a managing director and head of the BMO Capital Markets Canadian M&A; group. He has extensive capital markets and M&A; experience. Daniel’s recent assignments have included advising Tristar Energy on its $2.5 billion merger with Petrobakken, Progress Energy on its $3.0 billion merger with Proex, IESI on its $1.1 billion sale to BFI Income Fund, BP on its integrated oil sands and refining joint venture with Husky Energy, Canetic Energy Trust on its $5.0 billion sale to Penn West Energy Trust, Miramar Mining on its $1.5 billion sale to Newmont, Nelson Petroleum on its $2.0 billion sale to LUKOIL and EnCana on its $1.5 billion sale of its oil pipelines. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets in 2003, he spent a combined 13 years in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, where he ran the Canadian Energy group, and at Scotia Capital, where he ran the Power group. Daniel has an MBA from the University of Calgary and a B.S. degree with honors from the University of Alberta.

Chris Ruggeri

is a principal in the Advisory Services practice of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services. She has more than 20 years of experience advising major multinational companies on how to create value and manage risk through mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, licenses, and collaboration agreements. She also has worked with companies on plans to attract capital from venture sources in the short-term and from both private and public sources in the long-term. Prior to joining Deloitte Financial Advisory Services, Chris was a principal at another Big Four firm and an associate at NASD, Inc. She spent a year based in Budapest, Hungary, where she advised international investors on investments in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Delaware.

J. Allen Miller

is the head of Chadbourne & Parke’s corporate department, advising public and private companies, private equity funds, hedge funds and other institutions on matters including mergers, acquisitions, investments, corporate governance, securities law, capital markets offerings, restructurings and joint ventures. Allen has extensive cross-border merger and acquisition experience. He has also represented numerous companies and financial institutions in capital markets offerings and financings of non-U.S. issuers. Allen publishes regularly in major law journals and is a frequent speaker at legal conferences and seminars. His honor citations during the past three years include The Legal 500, Chambers Global – The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Chambers USA – America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and Chambers Latin America – Latin America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He holds a B.A. degree from the University of New Hampshire, and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.
