Digital Bank Awards 2026

World’s Best Digital Banks 2026 Round 1: The Next Generation of Digital Banking Arrives

Digital portals give way to autonomous financial ecosystems.

The term “digital transformation” has been a boardroom staple for a decade, often used to describe the transition from physical brick-and-mortar branches to mobile-first applications. Yet as we evaluate the landscape for the World’s Best Digital Banks Awards for 2026, it becomes clear that this digital-as-a-channel era has definitively ended. The industry has moved beyond offering transactional parity between physical and digital channels to a far more complex paradigm of cognitive orchestration.

Today, the most sophisticated institutions are not merely building better banking portals; they are engineering autonomous financial ecosystems. Across corporate and consumer banking, the very architecture of finance is undergoing a fundamental structural rewrite. We are witnessing a decisive shift away from reactive, siloed banking toward a high-velocity future in which value is generated not through a customer’s manual interaction with an app but through automated, data-driven intelligence embedded directly in the fabric of commerce.

This year’s awards coverage serves as an essential analytical map of this transition. By dissecting the methods used by some of the winners, we uncover a clear, shared strategic roadmap: the aggressive removal of operational friction; the adoption of zero-trust security frameworks; and the deployment of algorithmic intelligence that operates entirely in the background, out of sight and out of mind.

We invite readers to examine the mechanics of a sector in the midst of a profound identity shift—one in which the traditional bank is evolving from a service provider into a comprehensive, invisible engine of economic growth. As we peel back the layers of radical change across liquidity management, lending, and supply chain trade, we find that the true leaders are no longer those with the most polished interface but those who have mastered the art of making finance completely disappear.

Round II honorees, including the overall Regional and Global winners and the Global Sub-Category winners, will be revealed at Global Finance’s 2026 World’s Best Digital Banks and AI In Finance Awards Ceremony on Oct. 13 at the iconic Raffles Hotel in Singapore.

Winners were chosen from entries evaluated by a world-class panel of judges at Infosys, a global leader in consulting, technology, and outsourcing. The editors of Global Finance were responsible for the final selection of all winners. Only banks that entered the competition were considered for awards, and awards were given only in those categories, regions, and countries in which there were entries. Winning banks were selected based on strategy, client usage, customer growth, product breadth, tangible benefits, and web/mobile design. Round I winners are eligible for Round II, with honorees revealed, with the 2026 AI In Finance and Innovators award honorees, at Global Finance’s 2026 World’s Best Digital Banks Awards Ceremony and Forum on Oct. 13 at Singapore’s Raffles Hotel.
