Global Finance magazine has released its sixth annual ranking of the Best Sub-Custodians. This exclusive survey will be published in the July/August issue.
Global Finance editors and reporters, with input from expert sources, selected the winners from the institutions that reliably provide the best custody services in local markets and regions
to global custodians. Our criteria included customer relations, quality of service, competitive pricing, smooth handling of exception items, technology platforms, post-settlementoperations, business-continuity plans and knowledge of local regulations and practices. We chose winners in nine regions and 53 countries. The winning banks will be presented their awards at a special ceremony to be held during the Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank in Washington DC in October.
Global custodians are making increasing demands on their sub-custodian banks that extend well beyond portfolio-servicing and safekeeping, said Joseph Giarraputo, publisher of Global Finance. At times like these, when markets are volatile and uncertain, sub-custodians are called upon to provide intelligence on local markets and sudden changes in regulations and
practices. We have identified those banks that do the best job of providing the high-quality services, advice and assistance that todays increasingly sophisticated customers have come to expect.
